We are incredibly proud of Luce Board Member Pauline Yu, who was awarded the National Humanities Medal by President Biden on October 21st, 2024.

The National Humanities Medal, which was launched in 1997, honors individuals or organizations whose work has enhanced the nation’s understanding of the humanities and increased public engagement with subjects such as history, literature, languages, philosophy, and other related fields. Each year, up to 12 medals may be awarded.

“We are deeply honored to have Pauline on our board, and we are thrilled to see her receive the nation’s highest recognition for her significant contributions to the advancement and preservation of the humanities,” said Debra Knopman and Terrence Adamson, co-chairs of the Luce board.
