Description

The Bridge to Asia Fellowship (B2A) Program was launched in 2020 with voluntary contributions from dedicated staff at the National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) to address the historical underrepresentation of minority voices within the international affairs and foreign policy fields, creating pathways for future leaders. Since its inception, the program has supported eight fellows through paid educational, professional, and mentorship opportunities to further their academic research and skill development. NBR requests Luce funding to expand and sustain this transformative program by enhancing available programming, providing dedicated staff support, and reaching out to a wider pool of talented candidates from minority-serving institutions. This grant will provide six four-month summer fellowships over the next two years. Fellows will be fully immersed in NBR’s research and program teams in Washington, D.C. or Seattle, collaborating on projects that align with their interests and receiving hands-on mentorship from NBR’s network of experts and senior leadership. Â
