Description
Thrive Scholars’ goal is to make New York City a community where the most ambitious students of color, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, attend highly selective colleges and graduate with the same opportunities as their higher-income peers. Thrive Scholars has developed a STEM Career Pathways program which supports women of color in STEM, from high school, through college, and into early career, helping them succeed academically and attain high-trajectory careers. Thrive seeks support to maintain and grow this program, adding a coding intensive program, and support for its new Thrive Academy-NYC program. This program will provide a rigorous academic intensive, including 350+ hours of math, writing, and STEM learning. It will provide women students with career support that includes industry-specific exploration, 1:1 coaching, and early career training. Foundation support would be directed to student scholarships to participate in the program.Â
