Description

The Asia Program recommends a Special Grant of $38,500 to the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, to support a planning grant for a convening of LuceSEA grantees. The convening will gather approximately 60 people from LuceSEA Rounds One through Five—to encourage knowledge exchange across the grantees about issues of interest to them and the broader field, and foster the LuceSEA network. The priorities identified will help inform the Asia Program’s thinking about future directions for SEA-focused grantmaking. UCLA’s Center for Southeast Asian Studies will help design, plan, organize and carry out the convening, a two-and-a-half day event to take place in Fall 2023.
