Description

Humanity in Action supports young people who are engaged in democracy, civic engagement, and human rights work. The organization boasts a network of 2700 fellows from across the globe. HiA has requested $40,000 for the organization’s North American office. This expanded capacity will enable the New York-based team to bring together a cohort of college students from the US and Europe for three weeks in the US to consider democracy and polarization using the tools of mapping. The New York office also manages other HiA programs which will benefit from the support provided by this grant. These include several grant and fellowship programs, including the Detroit grant program, an ACLU fellow, and the Landecker Democracy Fellowships. Support from HiA would come from DEPT funds.
