Lighthouse Foundation of Chicagoland is a Black LGBTQ+ led, multiracial social justice organization that advances justice for Black LGBTQ+ people across Chicagoland through empowerment, education, and entertainment. Founded and led by Christian pastor Jamie Frazier, Lighthouse Foundation is an extension of work Jamie and others initiated through Lighthouse Church of Chicago UCC. Through spirituality, arts, and workforce development programming, the organization aims aim “to build a more just world where Black LGBTQ+ people thrive.” The Luce Foundation’s grant will support Lighthouse’s efforts to further develop CARE (Coalition of Accomplices for Racial Equity), a multidenominational coalition of more than a dozen predominantly white churches and several community organizations dedicated to furthering “Black Queer liberation through inspiration, collaboration, and celebration.”
