The Public Theology and Racial Justice Collaborative at Vanderbilt Divinity School has announced a new effort to provide immediate financial relief to vulnerable communities in the Greater Nashville area. Emergency grants are available for individuals affected by COVID-19 and nonprofit organizations working to support those individuals. Additional grants will support nonprofit partners working to assist houses of worship or businesses destroyed by a tornado in early March.

In response to the March 3, 2020 tornado in Nashville, Davidson County and COVID-19 and the impact the pandemic is having on the Greater Nashville community, limited funding is available from Vanderbilt Divinity School and the Public Theology and Racial Justice Collaborative through a grant from the Henry Luce Foundation to help alleviate the burden on individuals and service providers assisting with relief efforts. We seek to work closely with collaborative partners and related partner groups to ensure that the funds awarded meet the greatest needs in communities disproportionately impacted by the tornadoes and COVID-19.
