Description

The Poeh Museum and Cultural Center was established in 1987 by the Pueblo of Pojoaque as a Pueblo artistic space to promote the work of Tewa people and Tewa culture. Poeh offers a variety of programs that aim to perpetuate Tewa artistic practices, exhibitions and offer other cultural programing. Poeh currently on exhibit 100 pots on long term loan from the Smithsonian.   Beyond this core work, Poeh is also working on a partnership document that will outline policies and procedures in working with Poeh. In the past, they have been at the whim of the rules and procedures developed by others so this document will guide future work and collaborations. Moreover, Poeh has been granted authorization by the Tribal Council to explore the repatriation of Pojoaque cultural property. They will start planning this work in 2024.
