Founded in 2020, Cohort Sistas aims to improve the academic, professional, financial, and mental well-being of women and nonbinary scholars of color in the social sciences, STEM, education, and humanities. Cohort Sistas seeks Foundation  support for its the Sista Circle Mentorship Program. This year-long initiative provides Black women and nonbinary doctoral students with peer and professional mentorship, addressing critical barriers to degree completion. Through discipline-based small groups and monthly virtual meetings led by Black woman mentors, Sista Circle mentees gain academic skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
