Description

This first museum exhibition of textile-based works by the leading multi-disciplinary artist Sanford Biggers will feature 80 of his quilts.  Since 2012, Biggers has re-purposed historical quilts to serve as the ground on which he paints imagery referencing and responding to their designs and social significance, and voicing his own perspectives on race relations in the United States. The exhibition will travel to the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans and additional venues to be determined.
