Description

For 16 years, Religion Dispatches (RD) has been a home for critical discourse and examination of the relationship between religion, power, and culture. The goal of this online publication is to bring contemporary scholarship on religion to a wider audience and to spark conversations about religion with journalists and other expert voices. RD is not a religious publication; it is a publication on religion for those who wish to deepen their understanding of the role religion plays in our lives and our politics. With support from the Luce Foundation, RD will launch an initiative to identify, cultivate, and amplify underrepresented voices. A new part-time editor will work with RD’s current executive editor to recruit and feature the writing of scholars and other knowledge makers from BIPOC, queer, and disabled communities. These writers will contribute to RD’s coverage on topics ranging from white Christian nationalism and the 2024 presidential election to attacks on transgender individuals, women’s rights, and immigrant communities.
