Description

The Little Cherokee Seeds program is a new language immersion effort in the Cherokee Nation. The program has received startup funding through the Administration of Native Americans (ANA) and the Cherokee Nation. The ANA grant is intended to support curriculum development for early leaners of the Cherokee language. This grant will provide additional support the Little Cherokee Seeds and their curriculum development efforts and help design and develop a Cherokee Art Education curriculum for the Little Cherokee Seeds program. To do this, they will engage Cherokee Cultural artists to teach and develop a tribally driven arts education curriculum. This grant is intended to support the development of new knowledge products (arts curriculum) that will engage tribal experts to perpetuate Cherokee artistic practices.Â
