Description

This grant will support research and professional development of faculty members at Tribal colleges and universities (TCU). TCUs were created as an act of self-determination to provide a higher education that preserves and perpetuates tribal cultures, knowledges, and languages. TCU faculty members are critical to this mission. But currently, TCUs have few resources for faculty professional development. This grant will support the professional development of TCU faculty through a series of professional development webinars, workshops and retreats, and an annual faculty conference. Professional development will focus on research, writing and publishing and offering mentoring support to TCU faculty. The College Fund will also host a writing retreat for select TCU faculty and also host a TCU research convening where an estimated 25-30 TCU faculty will attend, present and receive feedback on their research.

This grant aligns with IKI program strategy 1a: To strengthen and sustain the field of Indigenous knowledge in the U.S.
