Description

The Hammer Museum’s presentation of this first major survey of work by the pioneering Los Angeles artist Andrea Bowers will demonstrate Bowers’s critical and intersectional engagement with feminism, environmentalism, and immigration and labor rights. The exhibition will will explore the artist’s embrace of the tools, tactics, and aesthetics of protest in works created to amplify and advance the causes to which she has committed herself. Works will range from her extraordinary drawings to more recent installations in neon. The exhibition is co-organized with the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
