Meet the first cohort of the Mansfield-Luce Asia Scholars Network. This new initiative, a partnership between the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation and the Henry Luce Foundation, seeks to connect American scholars of Northeast or Southeast Asia in order to create greater understanding of the region as a whole. The program aims to contribute to a more cohesive and sustainable U.S. approach to the Indo-Pacific by identifying and supporting future policy intellectuals and reinvigorating policy-relevant scholarship on contemporary Asia.

The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation and the Henry Luce Foundation are pleased to announce the first cohort of the Mansfield-Luce Asia Scholars Network.

The Mansfield-Luce Asia Scholars Network seeks to address the unfortunate divides that the vast geographic size and diversity of East Asia have created between Northeast and Southeast Asia specialists, obstructing understanding of the region’s contemporary complexities as a whole. The program identifies and connects American scholars and professionals specializing in Northeast or Southeast Asia. These scholars will be able to participate constructively in the policymaking process in the mid- and long-term and contribute to better understanding within U.S.-Asia relations by teaching and inspiring future generations.
