Description

Jennifer Denetdale is a respected Navajo historian and this proposal will move Dr. Denetdale’s work to exhibit the photographs of Milton Snow, the o fficial photographer by the Soil Conservation Service . She will use his photos to tell the story of changes in the Navajo Nation documented by Milton Snow. They are planning for the exhibition to occur at the Navajo Nation Museum in Window Rock, Arizona and will open in the summer of 2025.   HLF previously award a $45,000 planning grant to Jennifer for this exhibition.    This grant connects to Indigenous Knowledge program goal 1a: To nurture and sustain Indigenous knowledge leaders and their work.
