Description

Chartered in 1990, the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (“NAPE”) is a consortium of state and local agencies, corporations, and national organizations committed to the advancement of equity and diversity in classrooms and workplaces. NAPE’s We Belong in STEM – Inclusion for Girls of Color seeks to increase the representation of girls of color at the K-12 level. Over the course of a school year, teams of school educators and students would engage in data analysis and action research modules to explore practices and policies that remove barriers to STEM access for girls of color and make STEM classrooms inclusive environments. NAPE would also develop a brief, practitioner-facing case study to be disseminated to others in the STEM Convergence network and beyond to democratize promising practices developed throughout the program. Luce funding would support data collection and dissemination efforts, materials for educating and disseminating information, venue and travel costs for in-person meetings, and technology costs.
