Description
The need for accurate and objective analysis in Asia’s last two pariahs, Myanmar and North Korea, is growing as key players in and outside the region adjust their policy approaches towards these countries. This grant supports a two-year renewal project to engage stakeholders on ongoing developments in Myanmar and North Korea, develop policy insights for stakeholders and the public, and cultivate the expertise of AAPI and emerging scholars.
The Myanmar project will develop timely and nuanced analysis and policy recommendations on key issues in Myanmar through engagement of a broad network of experts, scholars, policy practitioners, and stakeholders in Myanmar, Southeast Asia, China, the United States, and Europe. By drawing on an array of perspectives and amplifying the voices of the next generation of scholars of Myanmar, the project will seek potential paths forward for Myanmar’s future.
