Description

Native Americans in Philanthropy (NAP), founded in 1989, seeks to nurture philanthropy within Native communities, to increase funding for these communities, to educate mainstream philanthropy about responsible and inclusive grantmaking practices, and to increase representation of Native leaders in philanthropy. NAP operates a variety of programs in service of these goals: Native Voices Rising provides young Indigenous people the opportunity to make grants within their communities; the Tribal Philanthropy Coalition connects tribally-based grantmaking organizations; Membership Education helps non-Native grantmakers to engage more constructively with Indigenous communities. This grant will support NAP’s leadership development and capacity-building work, funding personnel and travel, primarily.Â
