Description

The AAPI Civic Engagement Fund (AAPI Fund) was established in 2013 in response to the underinvestment in and disenfranchisement of AAPI communities.  HLF has supported AAPI Fund since 2021 to advance its work with local- and state-based AAPI communities to foster a culture of civic engagement.  Renewed funding from Luce will further its efforts to conduct community-driven research, counter mis/disinformation and anti-Asia sentiment, elevate AAPI voices, build narrative power, and nurture next-generation AAPI leaders, many of whom are women. Building on the recent success of its large-scale public opinion projects, AAPI Fund will refine and upgrade its strategic research work, provide more nuanced data on AAPI viewpoints on key issues, and improve the accuracy and usability of its data collections and relevant educational materials. Other priorities identified for 2025 include continued development of AAPI Speaks and Creative Catalyst Fellowships to strengthen communication capacity, encourage innovative storytelling, and expand public outreach.
