Description
Halcyon has launched a new program that seeks to source solutions to climate change and build resiliency within the urban communities impacted by climate change. The program will support twenty women and non-binary entrepreneurs focused on developing scientific, technological, and innovative solutions to climate change, and provide support as they prepare ventures for scale with a focus on customer discovery and ethical product development; leadership development; mentorship; storytelling and pitching; and improving investment readiness and knowledge of funding options. Foundation support would directly fund programmatic activities, support Halcyon team members, and help to cover administrative costs. Funding would specifically cover personnel costs, contract services, program expenses, communications and outreach, travel for staff and fellows, and indirect costs (no more than 10%).
This would be the Foundation’s second grant to Halcyon House.
This grant would advance STEM Convergence’s Goal 2 (Support STEM Innovation for Positive Social Change), Objective 1 (Increase and bring together women of color leaders and innovators).
